Handbag trends for Spring 2009 include dressed-up, grown-up totes made from  a variety of materials. Nylon , Linen and Leathers

Prada and Kate Spade did totes in the 90s, when the black nylon Prada backpack was everywhere. Then nylon faded from the scene as leathers, exotic skins, feathers, knits, and fabrics took a turn in the spotlight.

But nylon bags are back as well as great new tote designs in linen, and they are gorgeous. Not only that, they’re functional, sturdy, and lightweight.
